The four ZUNGZA essential oils

ZUNGZA has four essential oils, blended in house, each one a direction of the forest.

RUNG GIA is the deepest part, where the canopy closes and the ground stays damp. NUI NON high and clear, with wind moving over stone. THONG REO bright and dry, like midday on a pine hill. BAVI softer, with leaf and water in the air of a misty morning.

Each scent keeps to no more than three main notes — enough to recognise at once, and still leaving room for your memory to add its own part.

Using essential oils at home

With an oil burner, put warm water in the bowl and add a few drops; the scent rises slowly and gently. With an ultrasonic diffuser, add drops to the water tank according to its capacity. With a scented wooden bead or a piece of cotton in a drawer, one or two drops are enough to give the whole drawer a smell of its own.

You can also put a drop on a cloth in the car, or on a small piece of wood beside a window. Essential oil is the gentlest way to change the air of a room, because you can add or ease off drop by drop until it feels right.

Storing essential oils

Keep the bottle somewhere dry, tightly capped and out of direct sun. When you open it, smell from a little distance first before coming closer, because a neat oil is usually stronger than you expect. Essential oils keep for three years from the date of production.

The same scent region, made in three forms so you can choose by the moment. Essential oil is the most flexible. Reed diffuser keeps an even base of scent for days. Scented candle marks a deliberate stretch of time, when you sit down and light it.
